The Blooming Marvellous Floral Tonic
Our alcohol-free floral tonic is the perfect product for the arrival of Spring as its heady scent aptly reflects the blooms coming to flower this time of year.
THE INGREDIENTS
The 100% organic ingredients that make up our Floral Tonic are Rosa damascena (rose) flower water, anthemis nobilis (roman chamomile) flower water, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower water, agave spp leaf extract, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) seed extract.
You’ll notice there is no alcohol in this product. The skin on our face is delicate and alcohol tends to strip it of its natural oils. We use a carefully balanced mix of naturally astringent flower waters.
FLOWER WATER
The difference between a flower water, flower oil and flower extract is vast. Flower water is made through the process of distillation. Essential oils are also created from this process. You could almost say that the Flower Water is a by-product of the Essential Oil process. However, we don’t see it that way. This valuable creation is rich with properties, enabling Dr Spiezia to create a perfect formulation to uplift, refresh, tone and optimize the effects of the Face Cleanser and Inlight face masks.
LET’S TALK ABOUT LAVENDER
One of the most recognisable ingredients on the list is ‘lavender flower water’ or ‘lavandula angustifolia’. We use Lavender in many forms as it is a hugely versatile flower. Most commonly known for its relaxing scent, it is so much more than its stunning aroma. It is used as an anti-inflammatory and cytophylactic (to aid the creation of new cells) ingredient as well as having antiseptic, pain relieving and healing properties. When balanced within a formulation in different quantities, combinations and forms (water/oil/extract), specific properties are enhanced. This is true of all the herbs, flowers, seeds and nuts we use.
